Kiwi Innovators and Inventors

 In our reading group, our learning has focussed on Kiwi innovators and inventors.

I chose to learn about 4 different things the rat trap, referees whistle, manuka honey/medical honey and the electric fence.

The most interesting thing that I found out was something about manuka honey it is actually really good for you will probably see this on the slide but my favorite fact was that manuka can help all different kinds of sicknesses.

The invention that I think is most important is the manuka honey because it helps sicknesses.

Innovative and Inventors

In our reading group, our learning has focussed on New Zealand innovators and inventors.

I chose to learn about the amphibious boat it is like a boat just it can go on land.

I found out that there is a kind of boat that can go on land and they made 25 prototypes.

Ice blocks

Yesterday and today I was learning about cool things that kids have invented. 

My favourite invention was the ice block because it is really yum and I just liked it.

New Zealand Inventors

 In our reading group, our learning has focussed on New Zealand innovators and inventors.

I chose to learn about Easiyo it is a brand of yoghurt.

I found out that Easiyo was invented by a science teacher in Auckland.

Innovators and Inventors

 In our reading group, our learning has focussed on innovators and inventors.

An innovator is a a person who introduces new methods, ideas, or products.

Kids can be inventors too. I found out that kids can be really good inventors too like Jeanie Low she invented kiddie stools and she was only 11. Kiddie stools are used to reach high stuff and you could put it under a kitchen sink because it can fold up.

I would like to invent a flying car because it would help people go overseas and you could press a button and the wings would fold in and you would be driving around in a normal car.

Endangered Animals

This week I have been learning about endangered animals.

 I have been learning about the Chatham island black Robin is really cool and such a cute bird.

There is a lot of information in the slide so maybe if more people start doing there part we could save these little birds.

Maths

This week in Maths, we have been focussing on  measurement and the Olympics.

There were a hole lot of  different sports I have only done 4 of the sports so we will be carrying on the sports next week.

I really enjoyed doing the weightlifting challenge. It was sort of like real weightlifting but we have filled up a empty milk bottle and timed how long we could holed it in the air for.

Something that was a bit tricky was the basketball challenge. First we had to

Ancient Olympics

 This week I have been working on a slide about the Ancient Olympics.

It was fun doing the slides and reading the story.

It was hard to find all the information but I managed.

My Holiday

On the second week of the holidays we got bored hanging around Gisborne so we decided to go up to Auckland!

We were so excited that we're forgotten about the big drive we were about to go on. That was the worst bit about the holiday but we were going to do anything to get out of Gisborne.   After 6 hours we were finally in Auckland. It felt so good to finally out of the car.

The next day it was raining so we went up the Sky Tower but we could not see much. After that we went to Kelly Tarltons Aquarium.

That was pretty exciting. We got a bit bored at Kelly Tartan's so we went home.

The second day in Auckland was a bit more promising because it was a lot more sunny and it was  fun because we went to Rainbows End. I went on lots of fun rides but my favourite was the rollercoaster. That was pretty much my whole holiday.

Farmers Air Trip

 Today we went to Farmers Air.

We got to see lots of planes and machines and that was cool.

When we arrived at Farmers Air we got Hoags showed a around.

It was really fun at Farmers Air and I would like to go back.

My Mum

This is the poem I wrote for my mum for Mother's Day.

We had to use similes to describe our mums.

We had a Mothers Day Celebration on Friday.

There was lots of fun games that we played with with our mums.

We got to decorate cupcakes and I put a lot of sprinkles.

It was so fun and I hope we do it next year.

 

Anzac poem

 Today we had to write about Anzac poem. We had to copy and paste it onto a slide and then we had to write about it.  Me and  Bonny and Huia struggled to write about the poem.

My Kawa of Care

Today we were looking at all the ways how to keep your Chromebook safe.You have to do a lot of things to keep your Chromebook safe.Like not pulling off the keys and make sure nothing's on your Chromebook when you close it. If you follow the Kawa  of Care your Chromebook will be safe.

My digital self

 Today we were making digital versions of ourselves.

First we had to take a photo of ourselves.

next where to use polyline to make the shapes of our faces hair and nose. plus the eyes and the mouth.

After that we had to post it on our blog

forklift hold

Today we were learning how the forklift hold our Chromebooks so we don't drop them.

 Then we could custom the background so we looks like we were somewhere else then school.

It's important to take care of your Chromebook  cos they're really expensive
